MORTON KAISH, MAGNOLIA RISING

In 1976, Luise and Morton Kaish were both accepted as fellows at MacDowell in Peterborough, New Hampshire. While Luise innovated her techniques in the Cheney studio, experimenting with burning canvas and layering into collage, Morton was at work in the Alexander studio, capturing the captivating landscapes of MacDowell.

In 2024, Morton Kaish’s Magnolia Rising entered the permanent collection at MacDowell.

We are thrilled to offer a special limited-edition print based on Magnolia Rising to help support the renovation of the Studio at MacDowell where Morton worked during his 1976 residence, the Alexander Studio, a stone structure originally built in 1922.

The prints, produced at Powerhouse Arts in Brooklyn, New York, are part of limited edition of 50.

Magnolia Rising is available for $1,500, with 50% of the proceeds supporting the Alexander Studio renovation.
