THE HERO’S JOURNEY

One day, in the Piazza Navona I see a drama unfold among the children at play that takes me by surprise — though it is as old as Time.

A stranger is welcomed and embraced by the group at play. For reasons obscure, frivolous or envious — the stranger is soon denounced, attacked by the now hostile group.
All ties are severed.

The stranger is abandoned. The group moves on.
